Macey starts a new job in a college employee relations department. On her first day she has a knife held to her throat and by the end of the week she has at least 10 people hating her. Then the murders start. Of course, Macey is a prime suspect. Spending time with the yummy cop Vince almost makes up for those vicious typewriter attacks.
This book is a fun read, with an intriguing cast of total nutcases. While the office politics are a bit kooky, they aren’t that far off of some I’ve seen in real life. It’s written in first person and has some spots of stream-of-consciousness, which are a bit tedious. The plot and characters are interesting and enjoyable, with only one scene that let me down. Macey’s confrontation with her father didn’t have quite the tension I expected. Overall, I enjoyed the book and plan to read more by this author.
